Warawee Unique (Mike Merton) captures the Tompkins-Geers Stakes ($73,000) for harness racing 3-year-old pacing colts & geldings at Tioga Downs on Friday (June 28).
Yonkers, NY – Had Warrawee Roo won the Dayton Trotting Derby, he may well have earned an invite to the International Trot.
He ran out of racetrack in Ohio. He had no such issues in Westchester.
Out early from the pole position, Warrawee Roo (Dan Dube, $10.60) rolled from second-over Saturday afternoon (Oct. 13), winning Yonkers’ $250,000, 1-1/4 mile Harry Harvey Invitational Trot.
Warrawee Ubeaut etched her place in harness racing history on Friday afternoon at The Red Mile, becoming the sport’s fastest ever 2-year-old, regardless of sex, by virtue of a breathtaking 1:48 3/5 performance in the day’s second of four International Stallion Stakes contests for pacing fillies.

Manalapan, NJ – Yannick Gingras was impressed with 2-year-old female pacer Warrawee Ubeaut when he trained her earlier this year in Florida, and the filly continued to get high marks from Gingras following her first qualifier on Monday (June 11) at New Jersey’s Gaitway Farm.
Warrawee Ubeaut, a daughter of Sweet Lou out of Great Memories, paced her mile in 1:56 with a :26.3 final quarter-mile to win by eight lengths for trainer Ron Burke. She was a $70,000 purchase at the Lexington Selected Sale and is owned by Burke Racing Stable, Phil Collura, J&T Silva – Purnel & Libby, and the Weaver Bruscemi partnership. She is a half-sister to O’Brien Award-winning millionaire Warrawee Needy.
For the second consecutive year, Mister Herbie captured the title as Canada’s Older Trotting Horse of The Year.
